dear all,
I was hoping someone has a tip to trouble shoot the following symptoms of a Das Tremolo build: it switches on, the trimmer affects the volume well. Led works..
But no effect.. it doesn't trem. I suspect an ic is broken.. any tips? Everything seems wired fine.
Thanks!
Das Tremolo, sound works, but it doesn't "trem"..

update.. the IC's have been replaced. Same symptoms. Is an optocoupler easily damaged by soldering?

Hi,
If you provide lots of information, somebody might be able to give you hints:
Link to documentation
Good photos from both sides
Voltages to gnd of all ic pins.
What have you tested with what result?
....Have you checked all resistor values and their color codes?
Good luck Christof -
Hi, thanks for replying!
It is Musikding's own Das Tremolo; circuit, wiring, BOM.
I guess because it passes signal and isn't completely dead I expected it to be an obvious issue/answer, and I could not find any issues based on visual inspection, resistor codes and wiring etc all seemed normal. I will follow up with more info!best,
Chris -
Update, please find some detailed photos here.
To me, all wiring and component population looks as it should. If anyone has a tip based these symptoms (it turns on and passes amplified sound, but no modulation) and photos, I'd be glad. Only thing I haven't been able to check is the pin voltages to ground.
Thanks!

The solder joint on the very left of the picture, when the board is flipped it's close to the DC jack, looks quite cold. There are some other solder joints which look a bit rough. You are using lead-free solder right?
-
Thanks for looking!! You are right. I am using lead free, yes. I've reflowed some rough looking ones and the one you pointed out. No change, yet. I did measure all the pin-to-ground voltages to the IC's now. Pictured here (orientation indicated with yellow circle). Does that look normal?
